Tight deadline call: customer had a $4K home-gym package booked for Monday delivery, but the garage was raw block and oil-stained concrete. We had Friday-Sunday to convert it.
What we did
Ten hours over Saturday-Sunday, two-person crew:
- Friday evening (separate visit): pressure-washed the floor, treated oil stains, vented overnight
- Saturday morning: cleaned the block walls with TSP, taped the windows and electrical
- Saturday day: two coats of block-filler primer (block walls are porous, need filler before regular paint)
- Saturday evening: first coat of bright-white satin on walls and ceiling
- Sunday morning: second coat
- Sunday afternoon: two-part epoxy floor coating, with anti-slip aggregate broadcast into the wet coat
- Sunday evening: removed all masking, vacuumed, vented
What we did NOT do
The customer asked us to also paint the exterior trim of the garage that weekend. We declined, outside temperature was -3°C, paint wouldn't have cured. We booked the exterior for late March separately. Better to do it right than to have it peel by July.
